What is Seeding
Seeding is the uploading of a file to other users. This in turn ups your ratio and ups your tracker connections availablitiy.
Why Seed
Seeding is a must in small communities like this one. Without the sharing of files this site would not excist so when you finish downloading to show your graditude for the free download you SHARE back aka seed.
NOTE: Seeding after every downloading of a file will help you maintain a postitive ratio.
How to Seed
Seeding is extra easy and should be done when you have completed a download. For this exercise we will use Azureus.
Why Azureus? Well lately there have been a lot of complaints about not being able to seed or download more than one file at a time on many other clients. I myself have used all the other clients as well with no luck on seeding or downloading more than one file at a time. After any download has complete it will drop down into the seeding column of Azurues or in some clients it will stay put. However its status will change to Seeding all by itself. You yourself have to do NOTHING but not touch it or remove it from the client. If there is no downloaders in the swarm seeding does nothing for you or your ratio. However just because there is no one in the downloading swarm at that special moment doesn't mean someone won't come along to download that file later so of course you should always seed as long as you can or atleast until you are 1:1 ratio.
Super Seeding
For single seeders (reseeders) and uploaders of torrents there is an option called superseed. This option uploads to the fastest downloader of the torrent at that moment. This makes it so you don't have to upload the same parts of the file over and over again to different people so the downloads can go on and others are not stalled waiting to continue to download the file. |
